Meet Tim

I am a Certified Professional Coach who has chosen personal and professional coaching as my life’s work. I have enjoyed careers in both the public and private sectors. My initial vocation was in public education. I taught science at the middle school level and also coached girls’ and boys’ basketball. After earning my Master’s Degree in School Counseling, I later became a middle school counselor and a Child Development Specialist. After twelve years with the Beaverton School District and one year teaching abroad, I chose to make a rather dramatic career shift and entered the corporate world of pharmaceutical sales. I had always enjoyed medicine and helping people. During the next eighteen years I was successful selling for both Lederle and Amgen Pharmaceuticals. It was during this time that I developed the skills of selling, marketing, negotiation, group presentations and facilitation, goal setting, and time management. However, it was not to be my life’s work and I knew that. I made a conscious decision to leave Amgen and the corporate world in 2001 and to begin my course work in Personal and Professional Coaching. After investigating several Accredited Schools, I chose to enroll in the Academy for Coach Training, Bellevue, Washington. The training consisted of four modules and a six-month Mastery Program. It was thorough, challenging and rewarding. I have recently achieved the status of a Certified Professional Coach (C.P.C.), recognized by the International Coaching Federation.

In my personal life, I have been blessed with two lovely daughters, Gretchen and Krista. Gretchen is in her third year in college in Vermont and Krista, is a senior in high school.

In another area of growth for me, I am beginning to recognize and appreciate my spiritual self, attending and volunteering at the Living Enrichment Center, Wilsonville, Oregon. I also volunteer at the Portland-based career transition organization, “Careermakers.” In addition, I am a member of the Clackamas “Stepping Stones,” a local toastmasters group.

In my spare time I enjoy sailing (I own a small boat), fly-fishing, building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, and camping.
